If you like mountain landscapes, you shouldn’t miss the valleys around Mount Viso. On the steep slopes of this “Stone King” and on nearby mountains you can practise a wide range of sports surrounded by one of the most picturesque scenaries in the world.
The Po and the Varaita valley offer all kinds of environment-friendly activities. In summer you can go hiking or climbing as well as ride your bike along asphalted roads or secluded mule tracks. In winter you will be spoilt for choice: downhill or cross-country skiing, ski touring or snowshoeing, ice-skating or spectacular ice-falls climbing.
Dolomites are probably the most beautiful mountains of the whole Europe. On the top of the heighest peaks you can find snow also during summer. If you are interested in summer skiing, you should consider a trip to Passo dello Stelvio, one of the highest Dolomiti’s area.
